Charlie Charlie has worked for Gulf marine of Clearwater since 1991 and has an extensive background in Evinrude and Johnson engine rebuilding. Charlie started at Gulf Marine when 2 older mechanics were on staff to teach him, including one technician who worked on Evinrude motors before World War II. With such knowledge, Charlie loves to instruct. Strangely, he does seem to end up with the cherry jobs- test rides and such. A little suspicious, under closer scrutiny. Charlie is a certified Evinrude Technician, having attended Evinrude factory schools since 1993. Charlie repairs Johnson outboards, Evinrude Ficht motors, Evinrude Ocean Pro engines, Mercury outboards, Yamaha outboards, and used to service Force outboards when they were a market force (feel free to pick his brain on these). He is a Evinrude certified mechanic, and sells new trailers from Magic Tilt, Continental, Fast Load, and also sell used boat trailers.
